Famous contemporary Chinese ethicist, philosopher, educator and theorist Luo Guojie passed away in Beijing on March 9 at the age of 88. Luo was an honorary professor of Renmin University of China and the honorary president of China Association for Ethical Studies. Having dedicated his life to the pursuit of knowledge, Luo’s gift to the world was a wealth of ideas. His profound research on Marxist ethical thought, traditional Chinese and also Western ethics helped to establish a distinctive Marxist ethical system for China.
