PKU Library hosts photo exhibit on war against Japan

A picture exhibition titled “Farewell, Yan’an! The Chinese War of Resistance against Japan in the Eyes of Michael Lindsay (Lin Maike, 1909-1994)” was organized recently by the Peking University Library. The photos chronicling the history of the Chinese War of Resistance against Japan were taken by the British economist Michael Lindsay, an observer and witness of the conflict during his stay in Yan’an, one of the anti-Japanese base for the Communist Party of China. The exhibit includes group photos of Lindsay and Chinese communist leaders, Chinese colleagues and local people. A friend of China, Lindsay devoted his talent and wisdom to the cause of the Chinese people’s fight against fascism. He stayed in China with his family until the end of the war.
