Recently, the Second National Awards for Excellent Textbooks on Party Member Training were announced. Since the promulgation of the 2014-2018 Working Plan for Member Training of the Communist Party of China, 750 volumes of textbooks in more than 600 categories have submitted. Altogether, 118 volumes of books in 77 categories have been selected as the recommended training texts for local Party organizations. They include A Reader of Chinese General Secretary Xi Jinping’s Important Speeches, Faith (two volumes) and New Public Philosophy (seven volumes). New Public Philosophy, a research project specially entrusted by the National Social Science Fund of China, expounds on a new type of Marxist philosophy in its public form.
